The standard ATLAS line is made from selected, controlled heat-treated
alloy steels on sizes of 2" OD and under. Larger size hubs are made from
1141 steel or cast stell, with other components made of heat-treated alloy
steel.
|
All ATLAS Universal Joints 1 1/2" OD and larger have a grease reservoir
in the center block with channels to all bearing surfaces. There is a direct
conduit from the oiler to the reservoir.
|
The short stubby jaws, exclusive to our ATLAS universal joints, provide
maximum possible strength and resistance to spread.
|
1 1/4" OD and larger joints can be taken apart by removing a cap screw
and cross pin. This greatly simplifies attachment to some shafts.
|
Large bearings of equal size for minimum bearing loads are held to closest
tolerance and are located at maximum possible distance from the center
line of the joint.
|
ATLAS Universal Joints are very economical and live up to their reputation
for quality and reliability.
